The Carson Park District of Long Beach gets its name from a large community park in the area Carson Park. Developed in the early 1950's, this subdivision was many being developed on the East Side of Long Beach at the time, in 1950 the cities population was approximately 250,767 it grew to 253,800 in 1952 and in 1953 grew greatly thru the development of this and other developments and thru annexation of the newly developed areas.
The original models for this development were located at 6741 East Carson Blvd. The homes were developed and sold primarily to Veterans of World War II and Korea with no down payments and move in costs as low as $295.00 for 2 Bedrooms homes and $495.00 for 3 Bedrooms, Non Veterans Cost was $595.00. Today Carson Park is a prime residential area with tree lined streets, schools, convenient shopping and close freeway access. Most of the homes have been updated over the years, many of the original owners, their children and grandchildren still living in the area.
